Sabudana ( Sago ) is a staple food in many countries, like India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and other countries too. Basically, Sago is a rich source of energy and provides a cooling effect to our body. Before knowing the health benefits, let us first know how it is made. Sabudana (Sago) is made from the roots of Tapioca Tapioca roots are washed with water to remove mud and dust. The outer skin and the inner thick skin are removed using peeling machine or manual peeling. Then, the tapioca roots are checked for any abnormalities. Tapioca roots are crushed to extract the pulp, from which the raw starch milk is extracted further. The starch milk is converted to small globules, which are then roasted or boiled and then dried.
